Abode at Willowtail Springs (view our site)

Misty velvet filaments overlay yellow threads

Sprayed across blue dotted blankets.

    Soft thistle throated voices

    Sing sweet sage lullabies

Magenta tunes against deep purple woods

Whisper to exquisite moments

     Borrowed in time.

Willowtail Springs with three classy cabins await you amid the sun washed landscapes of Southwest Colorado. On 60 acres of fields, sun dappled ancient forests, streams, lush gardens, intimate shady groves and a large lake filled with bass beckon visitors.

Canoes sit by the dock. Fish for large mouth bass, dream, and watch double rainbows or Colorado mountain sunsets when the mist hangs low on the surface of the water.

Drift in peace as the sunrise filters gently through the lace.  Luxuriate in the hot tub perched on an outcropping of rock over the lake.  Take in the galaxy, shooting stars, the moon and, sometimes, the northern lights.

From decks, windows, pastures and woods watch a variety of birds.  We are a Release Site for Birds through the Durango Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. We have released eagles, owls, red tailed hawks and kingfishers, many of whom stay and raise families here.

Stewardship of the varied ecosystems on this land has become our passion, meditation, and magic.  It remains our practice, our breath, and our reward in this special oasis.

Guests come with a full itinerary, but often succumb to the spell of Willowtail Springs. Their car seldom leaves the driveway.

Come for adventure of any kind in any season; romantic getaway, small wedding, elopement, honeymoon, anniversary, family vacation, reunion or retreat.

Luxuriate in elegant comfort and gracious surroundings, accompanied by luscious bouquets of flowers, generous organic spa bath products and, of course, homemade cherry raspberry jam.
